Mosaic Children's Ministry

Welcome to SWCC's Mosaic Children's Ministry! We are so glad to have you and your children with us. More than just babysitting Mosaic Children’s Ministry provides the opportunity to instill core values in Children from a young age. Its purpose is to encourage and equip them with lessons for everyday life, while teaching them the love, value and purpose they have in Christ.

Here at Mosaic we want to give your children a great experience, this is why the following procedures have been put in place and we are asking for your help so that we can be as effective as possible.

Our Children's Worship Service is a time of song, praise, and Bible study geared toward children. The lessons are age-appropriate, and therefore divided into four classes based on age (3 years old, 4-5 years old, Kindergarten - 2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade).

Registration/Check-in
A registration form must be filled out for any child who participates in our program. Upon filling out this form and checking in your child you will receive a two part sticker that has a unique and random number. The large part of the sticker must be filled out and placed on your child’s back. The smaller section may be used for a bag. The parent or guardian will keep the back half of the sticker. Please let your child know that it is important to keep their sticker on during their entire stay. If your child needs you during the service time, your tag number will appear on the screen in the auditorium. If you lose your tag, you will be required to show proper identification and fill out a lost tag form in order for your child to be released to you.

Leaving your child
When you enter the children’s wing to drop off your children we ask that you leave quickly to avoid crowding in the hallway and to keep a smooth flow of traffic. We also ask that you do not re-enter until it is time to pick your child up. It is not uncommon for younger children to cry for their parents. This is especially normal in a new environment, but we assure you that every effort will be made to comfort your child. Most crying stops within a few minutes, but in the event that a child cannot be consoled we will contact the parent by displaying their ID number on the screen in the auditorium. We will not let a child cry for more than 5 minutes before parents are contacted unless other instructions are given.

Health and Wellness
To ensure the health and wellness of students and volunteers, we ask that sick children do not attend Mosaic. It is recommended that a child not be brought Mosaic when any of the following symptoms exist:

1. Fever over 100.4 degrees.
2. Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours.
3. Any symptoms of childhood diseases such as scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox or whooping cough.
4. Common cold, including colored runny nose.
5. Sore throat.
6. Croup.
7. Any unexplained rash.
8. Any skin infection – boils, ringworm, or impetigo.
9. Untreated pink eye or any other eye infection.
10. Any communicable disease.
11. Head lice, including the presence of eggs or nits.

All children and volunteers must be free of fever for at least 24 hours before returning to Mosaic.
In the event of children being unavoidbly exposed to a contagious disease (lice, chicken pox, etc.) parents will be notified.

Medications
If your child is taking any medication, you will need to administer it. Our volunteers are not permitted to do so under any circumstance.

Snacks
Each Sunday we do provide your children with a snack. If there is a snack or food you would prefer your child NOT have, please let your child’s classroom teacher know. If your child has an allergy please be sure to ask for an allergy wristband upon check-in and to check the allergy box on your child’s ID sticker.

Check-out/Picking up your child
In consideration of our volunteer staff please pick up your child as soon as the service has ended. If this is not possible, be sure to inform your child’s classroom teacher upon drop off that there will be a delay in your return. You MUST have your ID tag to pick up your child. If you lose your ID tag you will have to fill out a lost tag form. When you arrive to the check in desk you should show your ID tag to the check in volunteer. After this you may enter the children’s wing. Again, we ask that you pick up your child quickly and then leave the hallway to avoid crowding. If someone other than a parent/guardian is to pick up a child you must make note of this on the child’s registration form. This person must have the ID tag when they pick up the child.
