June Landrum is our Missions Team Leader. She has been a member of Southwest Christian since 1976.June and her husband Phil have made several Short-Term Mission trips to visit and work with all of the Missionaries supported by this congregation except Asia.

Mel Whitehouse joined Southwest Christian in 1964 and has been a strong support for the work here ever since.Mel has served this congregation min many ways over the years. To name a few... Hae has served as a Deacon, as our Church Treasurer, as an Elder, including the role of Chairman. He has served as a Bible Study Teacher and Mel, with his wife Joan, hosted an in- Home Bible study Fellowship Group for several years.

Patricia Finch has been a member of Southwest Christian since 1993.
Patricia has a true heart for Missions and has been a strong supporter of the works here at Southwest Christian for many years. She has also faithfully served on the Missions Team for many years.
Dr. Sam and Nadine Reed: Dr. Reed holds a PhD in Hebrew, Greek and Ancient Hebrew Culture from the University of Texas at Austin. Sam retired from his full time position of Senior Minister at Southwest (held from1965) in order to accept a Professorship with Lincoln Christian College in Lincoln Illinoise.
Sam and Nadine have also made several trips to the mission field including Papua New Guinea (3 times), working with Pioneer Bible Translators.
He retired a few years ago and they returned to their home in Austin. Sam has also served as an Elder, currently teaches a Sunday evening Bible study and is Minister Emeritus.
Nadine has also served in many leadership roles over the years including Women’s Bible Study teacher, Biblical counselor, she currently hosts a Sunday evening in home Bible study and a prayer meeting on Thursday evenings.

Amy Reed has been a member of Southwest Christian since 1998.
She has made Short-Term Mission trips to Haiti, South America and 6 months at a mission Hospital in the bush in Zimbabwe, East Africa.
Amy is an RN working part-time at South Austin Hospital, and the mother of two small boys. (She is the daughter-in-law of Sam and Nadine Reed). She also serves with her husband Kenny, as a lead singer of the Praise and Worship Team (singer).
Over the last several years, Amy has been tireless advocate for the children of Safina House, an Orphanage in Dodoma, Tanzania. She recently stepped into the Team Leadership role of our Prayer Ministry.
Jim and Linda Rankin have been members of Southwest Christian since 1971.They both served as youth sponsors for several years. Jim has also served as a Deacon, an Elder and he currently teaches an adult Sunday Bible Study.
Linda is well know in the congregation for her cooking, and organization skills. Whenever an outreach event is being planned, organized and exicuted, you will usually find Linda in the thick of things.
